Dakota Beach Informal Settlement Fire – Isipingo, Durban
In the early hours of Tuesday, 9 July 2025, a major fire broke out at the Dakota Beach Informal Settlement in Isipingo, Durban.
The fire engulfed more than 180 homes in a densely populated area, leaving over 400 residents displaced, many with nothing more than the clothes on their backs.
